October 21, 2007- Kearns, UT. US Speedskating is pleased to announce the US Fall World Cup Team for the 2007. The team was largely chosen based upon their performance at the Long Track American Cup I & Fall World Cup Selection Competition which was held this past weekend (Nov. 26-28) at the Utah Olympic Oval.
With 75 Skaters from 7 different countries competing at the event, it was an exciting weekend with over 25 athletes attaining new personal best times. Brent Aussprung broke the Junior National Records in the Mens 500m with a time of 35.83 and the Mens 1000m with a time of 1:10.11. Roger Schneider of Switzerland broke the Swiss National record in the Mens 1500m with a time of 1:56.02 and Philip Brojaka of Great Brittan broke the British national record in the Mens 1500m with a time of 1:55.231
Athletes will represent the United States in several of the ISU Long Track Fall World Cup Series, the first of which is being held at the Utah Olympic Oval on November 9-11, 2007. The second in the series will be November 16-18 in Calgary, Canada.
