TURIN, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Host nation Italy seized the speedskating men's team pursuit gold medal at the Winter Olympics on Thursday with a convincing victory over Canada in the final.

Italy led from the start and extended their lead to 2.82 seconds by the finish, drawing roars from the home crowd.

The Dutch took the bronze after outpacing Norway.

The win by the Italians gives Enrico Fabris his second medal of the Games, having won bronze in the individual 5,000 metres.
